Today was a terrible day, and it probably fucked up my Sunday time, but I did Saturday last night, and pretty much kicked ass. I hate using Google to get the very last clue, since it feels like just giving up and looking at the full answer key, even though if I had looked it up first, I'd feel fine about it. It was a proper name crossing another proper name and a foreign word, so I shouldn't feel guilty. But I didn't need Google for one of the 16-letter answers (the ability to fit this name is likely the only reason it's 16 wide) Lin-Manuel Miranda. He was clued as the 2016 Pulitzer winner for Drama, which I didn't just know off the top of my head, but I think I got it off just a few crosses. Another custom-fit 16-letter (part of a triple-stack) answer was Zombie Apocalypse, which is nice and modern, as was Solo Cup for "Beer pong receptacle." It reached pretty far back, too, with a (non-Great Gatsby) F. Scott Fitzgerald character and a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote.
